John is looking forward to taking McCoy up on that offer of showing him that advanced technology, partially for the technology, and partially for the ability to meet him in person. He's enjoying his conversation with McCoy; he thinks they have a similar dry wit and, with a bit of time, they could be possibly friends once they've gotten to know eachother. He also appreciates that McCoy hasn't mocked him any (yet?) for being a bit on the side of awed by the idea of futuristic things, though he wouldn't really blame him for it if he did.
