• Tag around to other people's threads! Play it like your character has just arrived in the City, as if you've already met, or...

[Laura is very confused, but also very devoted to the pepper grinder that has somehow become her child. And very protective.]

Jesus.. Take the keyboard...

[He should find something wrong with this... he should. But he doesn't, because it's Laura and it's her pepper grinderbaby, which by default makes him beam with excitement. Okay, Gambit would probably glare at anyone who calls him 'grand-père', but right now none of that matters as he peers over Laura's shoulder at the grinderchild.

He's careful- slow even as he sets a hand on her shoulder and gives a little squeeze. She's tense and nervous, he is too, but he's sure that's just because it's a little pepper millbaby, and they have to protect it. Like always he does his best to reassure her. He's there, and between them they can keep her precious grinderinfant safe.]

[She wants his approval and it is always strange to know that it is there. That she doesn't have to fight for it. And now she has a baby that depends on her and she doesn't know what to do. She lifts him a little higher, cradling him closer to make him more comfortable and feels as something slides down her arm. She looks and her nose wrinkles, but then she more disturbed by the realization that]

...He needs changing. I do not know how to change a baby.

[Funnily enough, he wants her to accept it, but he won't ever push it on her. In addition to that, he wants her approval every bit as much as she wants his, but most of all he wants her to feel...accepted and like she belongs.

Never more than now as he looks down at the adorable little one cradled in her arms. They've got this, nothing at all to worry about.

He chuckles at her expression and motions for her to come with him.]

Show me. [Laura wants to learn, because this is her child, and she should know how to care for him. It is a failing to not know how to look after your own baby. She stands up and moves to follow him, shifting the pepper grinder baby gingerly in her arms to support his back.]

We do not have the appropriate supplies to care for a baby. [Babies have a lot of needs.]

[She has a point there, they don't have the supplies to properly take care of a pepper dispenserinfant. Which should be a major red flag in his mind, and yet it barely registers as more than a matter of having to step out and go to the store to correct the issue.]

Non, it would seem we don', but dat's not gonna be a problem, cher, we'll get him dry and happy, den Ah'll step out t'get a few t'ings from de store.

[Surely, the pepper grinderbaby, can survive for a little bit wrapped in a dry towel and swaddled in one of her shirt, right?

He gestures for her to set the notbaby on a blanket he has laid out on the sofa and gives her a questioning look- to ask if she'll allow him to handle this so she can watch. Or if she wants him to just explain while she attempts.]
