[It really isn't fair. Gaila was always very kind--as far as Chekov is concerned--and intelligent; she may have been chief engineer one day. One tragedy in a mass of tragedies.]

The short one is easier to stomach, I believe. Gaila, you are currently in a place named the City where any number of temporally-differentiated universes intersect. The City is patterned after twenty-first century Earth, often altered by curses, and governed by beings who call themselves deities.

Do they at least have something I could change into? [ no need to keep this uniform on if this isn't a starfleet. orions aren't fond of too many layers, though she's grown accustomed to academy issue garments. ] Someone said the red on green makes me look like a Christmas Tree. Whatever that is.

Evergreen trees with holiday decorations on them. They're an ancient Earth custom.

Yes, a little, but they can be beautiful. The Winter Palace in Petersburg puts up one of the greatest trees in the world each Christmas.
