Tag around to other people's threads! Play it like your character has just arrived in the City, as if you've already met, or...

Pick from the list below - or use an RNG if you prefer - to hit a character with one of the City's curses! Is one character cursed? Both? Are they cursed with the same or different curses? That's all up to you!
1. Did It Hurt When You Fell From Heaven? Whether they're suave, awkward, good, or just plain horrible, citizens find themselves unable to stop speaking in the language of pickup lines.
2. Average Joe Day Those in the City with supernatural skills or powers, suddenly find themselves quite normal.

9. Truth or Dare Affected citizens are compelled to play every preteen girl's favorite slumber party game for a day.
10. [Not] Awesome Powers Today, affected citizens have...new powers! ...Amazingly useless ones.

[ the type of cuffs that are binding her and this man together by the wrists are different than the ones she typically finds where she's from, but there's no reason picking the lock shoudn't still get them free. only, for some reason, picking at them isn't doing anything to pop the lock and set them free. gretel huffs quietly in frustration, tossing aside the third or fourth pin that's broken in her attempts to use it as a key, then casts a glance at her weapons. ]

Guess we're gonna have to get a little creative.

[ When Jesse was younger this was the sort of thing he fantasized about. Handcuffed to a hot chic — a bit rough around the edges, but that's cool — with no end in sight. Only she's a little more determined to get out of them than he is. (Later on, he'll realize with horror that he has to pee, which is when fantasyland comes crashing down on his rudely awoken head and he joins her in her enthusiasm.) But for right now— ]

Hey! Hey, nobody said anything about getting creative, man, okay. [ Jesse tugs on his wrist, and her wrist in tandem, trying to keep her out of arm's read of her weapons. ] The picks I can handle, alright, but if you're gonna start slingin' the like heavy artillery, I'm officially out. No me gusta, comprende?

[ gretel frowns as she's jerked away from her weapons (which, for the record, she wasn't reaching for quite yet). she rolls the hand that still has its wrist bound by metal and raises an eyebrow at him. ]

You got any better suggestions?

[ she's not seriously intending to try blowing the cuffs apart, because she's very familiar with how those things work and attempting that could end with one or both of them losing a limb. there's a knife tucked way in the crossbow that could break the chain between them if she brings it down hard enough, but if he has any ideas that won't result in any damage she's willing to hear them.

(she's dubious about him actually having one, though.) ]

[ This is the thing about Jesse Pinkman: more often than not he doesn't have a plan, and if it does nobody listens to him (often, for a good reason). Granted, he's not exactly the feckless kid he used to be, but there's a reason why he's just a cook and soldier, rather than some drug kingpin living the big life.

Nervously, he gives another twitch of his arm — not trying to tug her away per say, but not letting her get any funny ideas, either. ]

I dunno, [ he whines. ] Ask around for a jumbo tub of Crisco or something? Lube it up and give it the slip? Y'know, something with a hundred percent less violence.

[ she lifts her attached arm and holds the cuff and chain in front of her face to get a better look at it. there's not much to further determine by looking at them closer and before too long, the added weight starts to make her wrist and arm ache, so she lowers it again and takes another look around the room. ]

Lubricating might work. Or heating the metal. Know where we can find any - what was it you called it?
