[ Scott's meeting his best friend here. They insisted on bro time, something about Scott being too busy with actual work. But, Stiles is late. It might be because Stiles lives in the middle of the freaking woods. So, Scott drops down two lawn chairs and a cooler nearby.

Once he gets settled down, he notices the puppy cuddles! And the girl, too. ]

He's adorable.

[grigio]

[R isn't sure what that new smell is but he likes it so, hey Scott. You just made a new friend. The puppy scrambles out of Julie's arms and heads over, sitting beside Scott's chair with his small tail wagging furiously.]

Thanks. I just got him a few days ago. I probably shouldn't have, but he was hard to resist.

[affectioning]

[ Scott laughs and pets R. You've captured his heart. ]

Oh, I remember you. Yeah, we had to keep the other unaccounted pets who weren't fostered in a sort of pet store? But, there'll be a better one down the line. In a few weeks the shelter will be a full blown animal clinic. Oh, I'm Scott. [ And down at the dog. ] What's your name? [ Hard not to love dogs, ain't it? ]

[grigio]

Yeah. I stopped in the day the animals were cursed and could tell us what they thought.

[That had been kind of hilarious.] I'm Julie. And that's R.

[affectioning]

Hi R. And hi, Julie. [ He looks up at her as he scritches R behind the ears. ] You knew he really wanted you. [ A smile. ] That was a stressful day...

[grigio]

He told me that the pitbull in the next cage over called him names and he didn't like it. I didn't believe him at first, but then I heard it.

[Scott, you are so R's new best friend. He grumbles some at the scritches before rolling over onto his back. Yes, his very round puppy stomach would like attention, too.]

I can imagine. Some of the animals in there were very demanding.

[Especially the cats.]

[affectioning]

Pitbulls can be cruel.

[ Then attention that stomach gets! ]

I never thought I'd be told when the litter needed to be changed. By the cats. [ Or, yelled at when he did it too early. ] I've never planned any kind of parties - or with seating and I felt like suddenly I was doing that. This rabbit didn't want to be with that rabbit. They named themselves...

[grigio]

I had one cat tell me over and over they were descended from Egyptian Royalty and that's why I must take him home.

[That's also why she picked up R. He was a sweetheart.]

Oh, God. They actually named themselves?
