[Today Mai is the lucky recipient of a rain cloud trailing along above her head. She's swatted at it, she's gone indoors and the angrier she's gotten? Well, she's only half dried out now.

She's just spending the day outside until the thing dissipates on its own. And it seems to have mulled into a smaller cloud now as she's settled outside of a coffee shop.]

[As any industrious new arrival would, Adrian is going around, poking things with a stick, and making notes. He hasn't progressed to actually poking people, but it may be only a matter of time. There are lots of things to poke and he's pretty sure the people will object. Best to leave that for a little while.

But seriously, he's not exactly sure what he's doing here. If his ritual went wrong, it shouldn't have gone wrong in any way that ended up with him transported to an alternate dimension- it was just a finding spell, after all.]

[The end of Summer meant only one thing. A day at the beach. This wasn't something she could do at home at all. There were no beaches in Citi Stadium and no safe beaches near there.

So today, she's taking advantage of this by throwing on her best two piece and shorts, stuffing her messenger bag full of sandwiches and sodas and potato chips and her ever present journal (and her inhaler) and she's sitting on a towel near the water.

There's a great dane puppy beside her who is so very interested in chasing a hermit crab. Until the hermit crab pinches and then it's a mad dash back to Julie, yelping the entire way.

Julie smiles at the pup over the edge of her journal before closing it and putting it away, picking the oh so upset animal up and cradling it in her arms.]

I warned you, R.

[Yes. She did in fact name her dog after her favorite Zombie. Think nothing of it.]

I told you that crab didn't want to play. You need to learn to listen, you butt.

[And then of course there are puppy cuddles. Why wouldn't there be?]

[ Scott's meeting his best friend here. They insisted on bro time, something about Scott being too busy with actual work. But, Stiles is late. It might be because Stiles lives in the middle of the freaking woods. So, Scott drops down two lawn chairs and a cooler nearby.

Once he gets settled down, he notices the puppy cuddles! And the girl, too. ]

[She's a woman out of her own time and not in the way she expected to be. Kivrin was meant to step into the 1300s, not the early 2010s, and she knew the slippage through the net would be variable, but by hours (or days at most)—not centuries. She was ill-dressed for the weather and the time period, clad in kirtle and cloak and furs and Middle English and Chuch Latin babbling through her head when there was no need for it.

But after a few weeks adjusting, of being ill in the hospital with some sickness from the Middle Ages (not the plague, thank God), she's back on her feet and traipsing through the City that she's only read about on the device she found when she arrived. The doctors and nurses have filled her in on the rest. And now she's ready to take a look herself.

This wasn't her assignment. This wasn't what she was meant to study. And yet it's a new world and a time a few decades before her own; and is she an historian, or isn't she?]

[And how do time traveling historians feel about confused, soaking wet -- from having been recently dropped into the fountain, of course? -- guys who have horrible mustaches and are wearing an even more horrible mustard yellow sweater? Because there's one half-stumbling towards her right now, looking entirely confused by everything around him. You could call what he's doing wandering, trying to get his bearings, but really, he's just freaking out.]

[He scratches his head absentmindedly.]

Is there an explanation here, or are we all just supposed to assume we're insane, or what?

[Wesley is trying his best to quietly blend in to the environment and not be too obvious about how removed from the time period he is. He's lying low, researching, studying - today he's at the library, experimenting with how his thoughts affect what he finds.

You can find him wandering the stacks, browsing the shelves, having returned to a table with one of the books he found more interesting, or in the areas of the City surrounding the library.]

[ The library was a fantastic place, and Helena had spent a good few hours there. The young man had caught her attention after a while, and his behaviour was noticeable to her, more so because she knew what to look for - she'd seen it before.

He was out of place. Out of time. She knew it because she had to try and hide herself, learn things exactly the same. Waking up in the twenty-first century after being bronzed in 1900 was certainly a little out of place. Catching up was fun.

She'd watched him for a little longer before approaching, curious as to the books that he was checking out ]

[ Being displaced isn't something new to Helena, she's done it before but that was more expected. Sort of. But despite her lack of expectation it didn't mean that she wasn't enjoying this - it was all an adventure.

Helena could be found everywhere and anywhere - she's looking around, looking for information and enjoying whatever's there whilst she does it. The books look intriguing and her lunch was very good. She could like this ]

[Kes is obviously surprised when she suddenly finds herself in the middle of a forest instead of in sickbay, the medical tricorder she has just been using replaced by an entirely different device. Another one of those holodeck events that everyone is so fond of? She can't quite hold back a sigh for having been whisked away from her research work, but doesn't want to be a complete party pooper either. Is she supposed to make her way through the thick foliage?

She pokes the strange communication device first, her tone playfully chiding once she gets an audio channel running. Maybe this will give her a few hints on how to proceed to properly play along.]

Neelix? [Her first suspect, closely followed by the second.] Tom?

[And after several moments of frustrating radio silence, this time a little concerned.]

Hello?


[2 – several days in; medical facilities]

[It seems only logical that Kes, as a fully capable medical assistant, eventually finds her way into the local hospital to see if her help is needed anywhere.

If you're part of the staff, you'll have an eager Ocampa following you around, ready to learn and get things done. You're welcome.

If you arrive as a patient you might have to endure a few unpleasant side effects of her technological adjustment period. What are those ancient needles and why is it so hard to draw sufficient blood with them anyway? Better bring some patience for getting poked repeatedly. She means well, at least.]


[3 – long-term residency; fountain]

[Looks like it's a nice sunny day outside and someone's enjoying her lunch by the fountain. Or rather in the fountain. Upon her arrival Kes has quickly spotted others idly strolling through the shallow parts to cool off and doesn't hesitate for too long before mimicking the idea. So off with those shoes and into the water - not without a tiny little bit of giddy, childish splashing of course. It's summer, go have some fun!]

[ What with Bones swanning around the hospital as part of the busy senior medical staff, along with Chase, Wilson and House, there's a better than slim chance that he'll be able to get out of this check-up unscathed. So, when patient James T. Kirk slips out of his room two minutes after Bones has told him to stay put, he shrugs on his leather jacket and starts walking purposefully for the exit.

Wherever the hell it is. ]

Whole place is a damn maze ...

[ Muttering under his breath, he does his very best not to look like a patient on the run. As long as no one saw him leave his room, he should be golden. ]

[ Currently, special agent Seeley Booth of the FBI can be found taking off his very expensive shoes and pouring out water. That's right, he, much like a few others was dropped into the fountain. So, he's soaking wet and sitting on the edge. He pulls out his cell phone. Well, that's gonna hurt. Clearly, he's having a pretty damn bad day. Anyone got a plastic bag and rice? Oh, but there's a device on the ledge there next to him. It looks like a phone. How convenient! Now, he'll finally check out his surroundings.

This isn't the Washington mall. ]

[Fate works like this. Things happen, coincidentally, and you have no control over when and where it happens. Fate is what brings Angela to the fountain a few moments right before Booth gets to stripping and wringing and whatever else people do right after being dumped in the fountain. Fate is what has her standing next to him, handing him a small plastic package.]

Well, somebody's a sight for sore eyes.

[Yes, she is laughing at you. Yes, she is giving you tissue to wipe your face off. Just deal with it, Booth.]

1 → exploring the city ]

[ The last thing Sydney Bristow remembers is fighting with her best friend - no, the impostor who'd taken the place of her best friend, who'd attacked Will. Someone had to've picked her up, extracted her, right? Her cell phone has no service and there's only this device that she isn't going to bother with just yet. She gets bits and pieces. The City. Things happen. Is it like some kind of modern internment camp? Something more free-form, something that resembles a city and acts like a prison?

2 → the police station ]

[ But, even a makeshift prison wouldn't have a police department would they? No, the idea she gets is that she was scooped up and dropped somewhere. Maybe kept asleep by a drug or pure exhaustion. So, she's checking out the local cops, trying to see if something there is worth it. Maybe they'll believe her story. That she's an agent of the CIA. Or, is it safer to be a normal person and gather intel that way? ]

3 → the blue light ]

[ Sydney Bristow needs a drink - that is, she needs to find the local watering hole and she if she can gather information there. Right now she has no way of contacting anyone, so, she's going to go into a restaurant, order a glass of wine, and observe from the bar. ]

[ Well. this is less than convenient. She spent months compelling a small town. It's not easy to sneak up on a vampire, an old vampire, much less tranquilize them. Katherine took every single precaution. But, what can she do but explore the City a bit. It wins points for most. original. name. ever. ]
