[ He ducks his head slightly to catch her eye. ]
We'll get out though. No one's going to stop trying until we do.

[She indulges him and meets his eyes. She offers a tiny, grateful smile too. ]
How many are here? I tried to contact my friends, but I feel that they did not follow me here.
[Then, brightly: ] You are human, aren't you?
no subject
Hundreds, I'd say. You 'feel' your friends aren't here? I'm human, yes, but what are you?
no subject
[English is such a pain in the butt sometimes, man. But she grins, ear to ear in enthuasiasm. ]
I am Tamaranean! But, I am have lived on Earth for a very long time now.

[ Or hit the same frequency. He chins a hand, elbow on a knee thoughtfully. ]
Are all Tamaraneans as beautiful as you?
no subject
[She lifts a hand, as a demonstration and flicks a lavender starbolt out into the air. ]
I am on my own, though. [A small pause. ] Are there any islands, here?
no subject
That is impressive. [ Blinking back to her as the fizzy purple light dies off, Jim shakes his head. ] Not as far as I've searched so far. It's a City and there's an underground, there are forests around it. I haven't been able to find my way through them to the edge, though.

[There is an obvious hint at a history there; too many buildings destroyed, too many injuries while fighting in battles. Her shoulders slump a little, but it's a brief disappointment.
Kori can adapt. ]

[You know to not ... blow stuff up. Or .. punch people through walls. ]
no subject
I'll let you know how you're doing, Kori.
[ A solemn promise. ]

[He reminds her, somewhat, of someone she has tried very hard to forget about. Not of Roy, who was funny and charming - but of Dick who was easy to speak with, endlessly open with her and humored all her quirks and took all the cultural differences in his stride.
It's a nice, familiar sort of feeling. She likes Jim Kirk, she decides. Jim Kirk can stay.
She smiles a mischievous smile. ]
Do you like to fly?
no subject
I love to fly. I'm actually the captain of a starship, that's how much.

[She pauses, glancing up towards the sky as she considers this. Humans, back home, don't have starships. Not anyone who isn't the Justice League, anyway. She taps her finger against her chin and then springs to her feet.
Wide, green eyes bear down on him as she takes a step backwards. ]
In my world, humans do not have starships that can go very far. But, I did not mean starships at all. I meant, do you like to fly?
[To emphasize her point, she floats just a little off the ground. ]
no subject
I can't do that, even if I'd like to. How are you ... ?
no subject
It is biological. This sun and Earth's sun grants my people the power of flight.
no subject
I don't mind admitting I'm jealous.
no subject
[Logic. But, she touches back down on ground. ]
no subject
[ And she gets a squeeze to her hand before he lets go. ]
Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise.
no subject
Princess Koridand'r of the planet Tamaran and Captain of the starship Starfire.
[She laughs, lifting a hand to tuck stray orange strands behind an ear. ]
no subject
[ A playful smirk lingers. ]
no subject
[Is she joking we just don't know. ]
