Tommy on Euphie~

☆ Tommy on Euphie;

[personal profile] team_sociopath 2012-04-06 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as has been the case for quite a while, Tommy likes Euphie a lot. She's a sweetheart, which helps, and she's cute; and she's always been nice to him, which means he's tried to be good to her, too. He knows enough about her past to know she's not all sweetness and light, of course, and though he'd never say it aloud (because that's how he rolls,) he admires how optimistic she manages to be in spite of it.

He feels like kind of a jerk for having vanished right after they hooked up, but it took him a while to readjust to the City after getting back, considering the absolute mess he left at home... aaaand the fact that he'd been there so long, from his perspective. Now he's starting to settle back in, and get back to the vague awkwardness of before he left with her.

The thing is Tommy would like to take things a little further, but he's also kind of commitment-phobic... especially in the City, where people come and go without warning. And he kind of figures that, well, princesses you probably have to marry if you're going to get anywhere with, and also Billy would probably electrocute him, so he's not sure where to go next.

So for the moment he's sticking with the occasional-friendly-going-out and making-out-when-feasible stage of things, because the alternative is Talking About Feelings. and...

Feelings are the worst! Euphie has the worst timing of all the timing ever timed. I think it's the City's clock. It's there to create bad timing. This feels profound now!

NEIL ON BILLY

Frankie on his GF I never get tired of hearing about feelings, give me something different, like idk, how he feels knowing about Moore
had_not_lived: (☞ I wanted to live deliberately)

☆ Neil on Billy;

[personal profile] had_not_lived 2012-04-06 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
This is well-timed, because today is Neil's three-year anniversary and Billy is one of the people he's known longest. Neil feels like, lately, they haven't been as close... which well is largely my fault because I'm a failure at tagging around... but that doesn't mean Billy is any less important to him. <3

After all this time Neil can get by pretty well, but Billy is always going to be stuck being tech-and-general-modernity support for him. It's inevitable. They have Justin in the apartment now which means slightly fewer we-broke-the-television emergencies, but for cultural stuff, Billy's usually easier to talk to. And he would be for relationship stuff, if, you know, Neil were capable or needed to talk about relationship stuff. Billy, you and Teddy are always going to be their gayspiration. And he probably couldn't find a better role model.

Overall, if they've grown apart a little Neil figures it's because Billy's got his own people from home to look after, which isn't a bad thing even though he doesn't like Tommy. Working together on the play, he thinks, will be good for both of them, and he's glad he has somehow roped both Billy and Teddy into it.

tl;dr we need more double-dates right now.

☆ Frankie on Eden

[personal profile] never_very_good 2012-04-07 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
If you had told Frankie at... basically any point in his life, that he would be in a stable, long-term relationship, manage a bar, and have a relatively mundane life, he probably wouldn't have believed it. And in fact sometimes he still doesn't. Frankie lives with the deep-seated suspicion that he doesn't deserve any of what he has... so, he better work his ass off to keep it.

The thing about Eden is, she's good at understanding all the weird parts of him that he doesn't want to have to explain. He's pretty sure she gets him better than he gets her, but that's okay with him as long as it's okay with her. Sometimes she makes him feel very old, which is strange, but probably good for keeping him in check. Sometimes she makes him feel like a teenager, which is fun. He thinks sometimes their relationship is probably, objectively, kind of messed up, but he also thinks they're good for each other, which is more important.

When she left he was pretty wrecked-- Eden was his support structure from day one so having her gone was a big blow. Plus, knowing what she was going back to... he was worried, not because he didn't trust her to take care of herself, but because she shouldn't have to. It left him feeling useless, which was worse than anything else. When she came back... he didn't really like the fact that things had changed so much, but he was glad to have her back at all, so he could deal with waiting for her to get comfortable again in the City.

He couldn't be angry that she was seeing someone at home-- after all, he's got about three seconds and a pack of starved vampires in his future, someone deserves to end up happy once the City winds down-- but he didn't like it. Being jealous makes him feel like an asshole, but feeling like an asshole doesn't make him feel any less jealous. Eventually he dealt with it by deciding that he doesn't have the right to make any decisions; telling Eden what to do would make him more of an asshole. If she decided they couldn't be together anymore... well, he's been dumped in worse ways and for shittier reasons. Still much, much better having her back.

Honestly, meeting and getting into a fistfight with the infamous Moore probably helped more than anything else could have, because Frankie knew the guy deserves to throw a few punches under the circumstances so it soothes his conscience. Also, well, in another world they'd probably get along all right, if they weren't in competition for their affections. But then again he also just kind of likes fighting. 8)

It's a tasty icon 8)

Neil is so glad to have Justin back in the City; it's a little weird and awkward because he was gone so long, and moreso because he came to visit so often, but really he wouldn't trade anything for it. He does really wish that Justin hadn't lost the life he won back when he was here before, because... it just doesn't seem fair. And somehow he thinks Justin seemed happier when he was alive, but that could just be him projecting because he is much happier alive.

It's never easy to tell with Justin, but Neil has the feeling he was... a little better-adjusted? That's not quite the word I'm looking for. That he was more at piece and slightly more optimistic before, and it worries him because even though he understands that Justin's living with things that... you can't really get over... he just wishes Justin were happier, plainly and simply. But life is complicated and obviously he has no idea how to bring any of that up so he's just going to be a supportive little cheerleader whenever he can.

IT WAS NOT EASY FINDING THOSE EYEBALLS. No. Yes. No, Neil's right--an alive Justin is a happier Justin than a dead one and less inclined to treat City!death lightly.

Right on both fronts! Poor Neil. I'm sorry.

☆ Cameron on Chase

[personal profile] as_damaged 2012-04-07 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
A Chase who doesn't remember any of the things he did that hurt her is so ideal in so many respects, but so awful in others, because he doesn't have any idea of why she's so reluctant to open up to him. And reluctant she is; in part because she knows enough to know something awful is in the future, and in part because things seem to be going so well on a surface level, she's afraid of pressing and finding out she's wrong all over again.

On the other hand, Cameron is a woman coming to terms with the uncertain knowledge that the next few years of her life aren't going to end well, and there's a part of her that really wants to take control of things here, and make what she can of it... but she has no idea how he would react to that, and honestly she's too proud to risk it. History suggests that as soon as she feels ready to move forward, he'll already have given up-- at least if she doesn't ask him to stay the night she can postpone the knowledge that he's seeing someone else, or that he's not interested, or something of the sort. And that ignorance is bliss.

She thinks things might be easier if she told him how much she does know, but since she can't be sure-- she used to be so much better at guessing his reactions-- she hasn't been ready to risk it.

But she really misses what might have been. The less likely it seems, the more she romanticizes it. Because Cameron is awful at life like that.

haha I feel like this is going to get confusing to write about ;3

So far Neil doesn't know Neil well, but his default is pretty much to like everybody until he gets a reason not to, so they're off to a good start. He was kind of amused by how amused Neil was to meet someone who shared his name, not because Neil knows a lot of other Neils but, well, it just didn't seem like a huge deal to him, but he was amused.

Overall, he has the impression that like most newcomers, Neil is just trying to adjust to the City and all its strangeness... which he knows is tough, but since he's been here three years and loves it, he is more inclined to be optimistic and supportive than a lot of others are. Possibly to excess, so he does try to rein it in, but, well. Of course, it's partly because Neil's dead at home so he doesn't have anything to go back to; he has extra reasons to make the most of the City. But he really does believe the possibilities are there for anyone.

Other than that he's looking forward to getting to know him a bit better, and definitely working together on the play! ;3
