Eames. Just. I think what bothers him the most is that he seriously cannot seem to grasp a good gauge on her. When he thinks he has one direction of the kind of person she is, they'll talk again and then he'll just be flipped over as far as his expectations go. He knows that she was sick at some point. He knows that sickness came back in the City and she was incredibly upset about it. She closes down very quickly and her anger rebuffs him easily, and he knows she has a sense of danger to her so he can't just needle the way he might someone else. He's wary, and he's bewildered, both things which bother him to feel about anyone because usually he's just so pina colada cool cool cool. And depending if baby Carla was also there when he finally made it to Stephen (if not disregard!!) he is also offput by her sociopathic behavior - naturally it would bother anyone, and even Eames doesn't necessarily want to view something like that objectively; when it gets at him on a personal level, he's much less concerned about keeping an open gate the way he would if he was just strictly observing.

Basically, Carla makes Eames act like Eames.

And it bothers the shit out of him.
