Oh, wow. Um. Penny is clearly going for some kind of longest-crush-ever-on-someone-who-will-never-reciprocate record or something because she's still kind of in love with Steve.

Which is why she hasn't been talking to him as often, obviously. Believe it or not, Penny has more-or-less accepted that Steve is a friend--a good friend, because he's a good guy--and completely uninterested in being anything else. She figures that she'll get over him if she avoids him. Avoidance makes her feel guilty, of course, but that's better than turning into a crazed stalker (not that Penny knows anything about crazed stalkers).

This won't last long. It's only a matter of time before Penny needs Steve to rescue her for something or she forgets that she's avoiding him for her own good.
