TEST DRIVE MEME
oh snap! it's a...
test drive meme

Have a whole bunch of stray muses kicking around? Ever wondered about how one (or more!) of them would play out here at
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
- Start a thread with your test drive character! You know the drill, just mark the character's name and canon in the comment subject, and/or...
- Tag around to other people's threads! Play it like your character has just arrived in the City, as if you've already met, or...
- Pick from the list below - or use an RNG if you prefer - to hit a character with one of the City's curses! Is one character cursed? Both? Are they cursed with the same or different curses? That's all up to you!
- Did It Hurt When You Fell From Heaven? Whether they're suave, awkward, good, or just plain horrible, citizens find themselves unable to stop speaking in the language of pickup lines.
- Average Joe Day Those in the City with supernatural skills or powers, suddenly find themselves quite normal.
- My Dirty Little Secret The one thing a character never wanted anyone to know is the one thing they feel compelled to talk about all day.
- 5 7 5 Citizens will find themselves speaking only in the 5-7-5 syllable format.
- Caffeinated Day All affected citizens will find that any liquid they drink has much more caffeine than usual.
- It’s a Boat, it’s a Bug, it’s Ours Citizens realize they’ve given birth to a child, regardless of their sex - only the child is an object, which they treat as if they were their own flesh and blood.
- Sing and Shout! Citizens burst into song of pop, rock, opera, or musical caliber.
- Handcuff Day Citizens wake up to find themselves handcuffed together, and no key nor force will unlock that lock!
- Truth or Dare Affected citizens are compelled to play every preteen girl's favorite slumber party game for a day.
- [Not] Awesome Powers Today, affected citizens have...new powers! ...Amazingly useless ones.
- Or just roll however you want in the game environment. Don't sweat the details, let loose, have fun - and enable, enable, enable!
Haji | Blood +
Curse 1, and this is so awful, but I'm attracted to awful
Tall, dark and handsome. I'm not normally this lucky. Wanna come back to my apartment? [Cue slapping his hand over his mouth. And more muffled words.] What the fuck was that?
[And if he knew this guy's relation to Saya...forget it. He'd fly off, mortified.]
AWFUL IS AWESOME! And I'm sorry he's just not talkative lmao
This is just strange.]
No. [A short and firm word, but polite as possible in Haji's current situation. Even with his usually hard to read face, the hints of stress and the want for answers for the usual newcomer questions might be easy to pick up on.]
Setsuna can babble more than enough for them both, no worries
[A look of absolute horror crosses his face. He was new once, and deals with newcomers on occasion, it's common sense they're lost and need some guidance, but trying to get help from a cursed person might be hazardous.] I didn't mean any of that!
[He holds his mouth shut for a time, then, tentatively, opens it to attempt normal conversation.]
Um...look, this place sucks. Makes people do things they don't want to sometimes. You look kinda out of it, though. You need any help [tone change!] in removing your clothes? I could use- [And Setsuna cuts himself off there, face bright red.]
no subject
Haji straightens and he shifts on his feet, as if to step away from he other man. The cello case is a welcomed heavy and familiar weight on his back, a weapon for if he needs it in just its size and weight alone.]
Will you be able to answer my questions, like this?
no subject
Maybe if you just stick to yes or no, questions?
no subject
He is quiet for a long moment after nodding to indicate he understood. Most of his questions were far more than a simple yes or no, but since he had Setsuna right here, he might as well narrow things down some.]
Was this Red Shield's doing?

curse 7 don't mind me i'm creepy
[She realizes too late that this is a complete stranger. Oh crap.]
I NEVER MIND HOW ELSE WILL WE GET SOMETHING OTHER THAN BANKFAICE
Damn having manners sometimes. And being born in the 1850's. ]
I think you have the wrong person, Miss.
GOOD POINT
I-I-I am so sorry!!! I didn't mean to - [Oh great, here comes another song]
No one to talk with
All by myself
No one to walk with
But I'm happy on the shelf
Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you
I know for certain
The one I love
I'm through with flirtin'
It's just you I'm thinkin' of
Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you
I mean, not you you -- this isn't about you -- I don't even know you -- it's this stupid curse --
I don't stay out late
Don't care to go
I'm home about eight
Just me and my radio
Ain't misbehavin'
Savin' my love for you
[Kill her. Please.]

Can he go back now?]
Curse?
no subject
They happen every few days. People are forced to do stupid things like sing or be handcuffed to people or taste like strawberry ice cream.
[At least those are some of the nicer ones.]
no subject
Far from a normal place, then.
[He is pretty monotone, but that little remark was particularly dry.]

#5, caffeinated Saya! /pops in for a few minutes between guests >.>
[Saya's restless at the best of times, always moving, never content to be silent and still. Making up for the years lost to sleep, perhaps. But rarely is it pronounced enough that she's anything like showy. Enough to be, say, jumping across rooftops as she's doing now.]
[Intuition told her to turn left three buildings back, and when the flash of black catches her eye (black hair, dark clothes, that combination always makes her look twice) and she leaps down to meet it. As much as being disappointed each time until now has her warning herself not to hope, it's for naught and needless besides. There's no mistaking her Chevalier.]
Haji. [He might be the only thing in the world that could get her over-energized body to remain in place, for now. Aside from her fidgeting she's suddenly calmer, ripples over still water rather than the rolling waves of a moment ago.]
[She's been waiting a long time for him.]
eeee yay!
But Haji knows her better than anyone, knows Saya because he is hers, to live and to serve her with every beat of his heart. This he has not forgotten, and it was with that, and with knowing her as he did, that he seeks to follow her, to look for her.
She flashes across the rooftops, and then as he recognizes her and his spirit lifts, so does she. He does not know how she ended up here, how long she has been awake, but right now, so long as she is intact in body and mind, it doesn't matter.]
Saya. [Breathed out, and he moves forward to meet her, to come closer.]
no subject
[Saya's excess of energy might make her seem nervous but her eyes are steady, certain. Accepting, as she matches his approach step for step.] I hoped you'd come. [Her edgy nerves itch to move more, close that distance completely. Her mind is unsettled and atypically honest (the curse, of course, she knows that much, but not all for that) and so, after an interlude in which she seems to throw off whatever reservations might otherwise hold her back, she does. Reaching out, seeking less an embrace than just simple touch, some sign that he's more than just her hopes given fleeting form.]
no subject
Always. [The words are both a reassurance to her and himself, that he would always find her no matter what. When Saya reaches out for him, Haji steps forward again and lets his hand catch her own. Proving that as much as she is real to him, so is he to her.
No matter what Diva and the others had told her, what strangeness he was about to face when it came to them or this place, he would protect her.]
no subject
[She can't, however, savor the moment as she might like. Her boundless energy surges, recompense demanded for the hushed lull of re-meeting Haji. Her Haji.]
Let's look around. I'll show you the place where I woke up. [Fluttery laughter bubbling up, Saya tugs at his hand and gestures skyward. She's too wound up to settle for anything so mundane as walking and for once lacks her usual disquiet about the abilities which make her other-than-human.]
no subject
So long as Diva does not start anything, perhaps they can live in a wary side by side way. Who knew.
Haji nods, moving to jump up as she did, only letting go of her hand at the last moment to make the leaps and bounds she did. Following, as always, to wherever she may lead. His intrest is perked, however, because of what she had said, that Saya had woken up here. Was she not at the gravesite when she fell asleep?]

#1
Did it hurt, when you fell from heaven? It must have been so painful, knowing Saya was here, without you, living in our care.
[ And she had been; Karl had absolutely demanded it. In short, life had almost been perfect. ]
Re: #5, caffeinated Saya! /pops in for a few minutes between guests >.>
But she knows, must have been able to sense it on him- His anger, shock and feelings of personal failure-The truth.]
Diva. [His only response, monotoned but his body language says everything. Brow furrowed, body tense, ready to defend or attack if needed.]
no subject
Is that all you have to say? I thought you'd be concerned.
[ after all, this is just standard Haji in front of her. Always so cautious, ever so dull. ]
no subject
[The reply is terse, and he knows it is a terrible idea to ask her this, but there must be some sort of truth, some way to glean out what had happened here from whatever reply she comes up with.]
no subject
[ much ]
But Karl on the other hand... [ now he was a piece of work. She's had to stop him more then once from going to far. Saya just isn't as much fun without all her memories. ]
